| The name of this beautiful pot is Wyandot. Richard Zane Smith is a tribal member of the Wyandot Nation of Kansas which is one of the Four Wendat Nations. |
“It was autumn and the leaves were beginning to turn. A baby girl in a basket swung from the limb of a tree near a small stream while mother sang sweetly a lullaby to her first born. As the child grew, her favorite season continued to come with the changing of the leaves and her love of the water would always keep her near the rivers, oceans, lakes or streams. |

| I am that child and my name is Beverlee. The elder sister of a Native American family of the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma, I was taught to create from the spirit within for the lessons that are there to help our spirit grow. I write to connect those lessons from the spirit within to my mortal flesh without and then to share the discoveries with my fellow man." |
