Who we are:
Beverlee - born from The Wendat People
Pale,
pink moon orb,
she floats
above the mountains
on the other side
of the frozen
Kotzebue Sound.
The cool blue days enrich my
view of life.
They keep my wants and needs in
perspective.
The balance comes when I realize
that material things
are only as important as their ability to burn and make a fire.

The Midnight Sun

This is a world in the winter as seen
from within the fur-lined hood
of a homemade parka.
It is a warm world inside my hood.
The crisp wind tickles my eyebrows
and bites my nose.
If I open my mouth
and blow out the warmth,
it turns into a misty fog
Then lays like crystals on the fur
to glisten around my face.
I am warm inside this fur coccoon
And satisfied with what I see.
If I face the wind,
the corner of my eyes crystallize
and it makes me smile.
I love the life
from within the womb
of my homemade parka.
